Parking and Finding A3

Complimentary parking is available for one vehicle, and there is no front desk or office check-in. Park in any available space in the designated parking area—no permit is required. Use the entrance near the middle of the building, then proceed to the left to find Unit A3. Please contact us if you have trouble locating the condo.

Arriving Before Check-In?

If your flight arrives before check-in, don’t worry—there are plenty of wonderful places to enjoy a meal, pick up groceries, or begin exploring Maui while you wait. We’re always happy to recommend a few nearby favorites based on your arrival time and interests.

You may also contact us directly before your arrival, and we will gladly check with our cleaning team to see whether an earlier check-in may be available. Early check-in cannot be guaranteed, as our team needs sufficient time to prepare the condo carefully for your stay.

Welcome to Honokōwai

The Pikake is located in the relaxed oceanfront neighborhood of Honokōwai, where many local favorites are within walking distance. Stroll to Honokōwai Beach Park for its sandy shoreline, shaded lawn, picnic tables, playground, and beautiful sunset views. Nearby, you’ll find local shopping, coffee, restaurants, a farmers market, and Papi’s Ohana—famous for its made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls. Across from the park is the historic green Lāhuiokalani Kaʻanapali Congregational Church, one of West Maui’s earliest Christian churches. Honokōwai offers the convenience of a walkable neighborhood with the welcoming, laid-back spirit of West Maui.

Getting Around

The Pikake is in a very walkable area with everyday amenities nearby. A rental car is recommended for exploring Kāʻanapali, Nāpili, Kapalua, and the rest of Maui. We can connect you with our preferred local rental-car partners, or you may reserve through any major rental company. Uber and Lyft also operate on Maui, although availability and wait times may vary. Local Maui Bus service operates along Lower Honoapiʻilani Road, with a stop near Honokōwai Beach Park.

Groceries

Times Supermarket in Honokōwai is approximately 0.6 mile from The Pikake, near the turn onto Lower Honoapiʻilani Road. It is a convenient, moderately priced full-service market with produce, prepared foods, bakery items, sushi, beverages, and everyday essentials.

Nāpili Market is approximately 4 miles north in Nāpili Plaza. This locally loved market offers fresh produce, prepared foods, baked goods, meat, seafood, wine, beer, and an excellent poke counter. Prices may be slightly higher, but it is a good option for quality products and local favorites.

Safeway in Lahaina, at 1221 Honoapiʻilani Highway, is approximately 6 miles south. It is the farthest of these West Maui options but often offers the best overall value, especially when using the Safeway app, digital coupons, and weekly specials. Pickup and delivery may also be available.

Pro tipBefore your trip, place a scheduled grocery-pickup order for the Kahului Walmart at 101 Pakaula Street. After collecting your rental car, pick up your groceries and continue to West Maui with what you need for the week. Reserve your pickup time in advance and allow time for baggage claim and rental-car pickup.

Entering and Securing the Condo

Using the RemoteLock Keypad

The front door is equipped with a RemoteLock LS-7i electronic keypad. Your unique access code will be sent with your check-in instructions and will become active at your scheduled check-in time.

  1. Enter your assigned access code.
  2. Press the # key.
  3. Wait for the keypad to indicate that the code was accepted.
  4. Turn the exterior handle and open the door.

The door is set to lock automatically from the outside after it closes. Pull the door completely closed and check the exterior handle before leaving to make sure it is securely locked. From inside the condo, simply use the interior handle to exit.

If the code does not work, enter it again slowly and make sure you press the # key afterward. Contact Hale Aloha guest support at 808-500-5081 if you continue to have difficulty.

If the A/C is not cooling, confirm that it is set to cool mode and that the doors and windows are closed before contacting guest support.

Wi-Fi, Television, and Entertainment

A Wi-Fi information card with the network name and password is located inside the condo for your convenience. The condo includes flat-screen televisions. Guests should use their own streaming accounts and log out before checkout.

If the Wi-Fi is not working

  • Confirm that Wi-Fi is turned on and reconnect to the network.
  • Unplug the modem and Wi-Fi router from power and wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the modem back in and wait approximately two minutes; then reconnect the router and allow another two minutes for Wi-Fi to return.

If the cable TV is not working

Confirm that the television and Spectrum receiver are turned on and that the television is set to the correct HDMI input. If the picture is frozen, missing, or displaying an error, unplug the receiver for 60 seconds, reconnect it, and allow several minutes for the receiver and program guide to reload. Do not press a factory-reset button or disconnect any coaxial cables. If service does not return, contact Hale Aloha guest support at 808-500-5081.

Kitchen and Coffee

The fully equipped kitchen includes cookware, dishes, glassware, utensils, a drip coffee maker, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, garbage disposal, and all major appliances needed to prepare meals. Extra trash bags and basic cleaning supplies are located under the kitchen sink, and a fire extinguisher is provided in the kitchen. Please wash used dishes, wipe up spills promptly, and do not place grease, coffee grounds, food scraps, or other solids down the sink or garbage disposal.

Sleeping Arrangements and Linens

The bedroom has a king bed, and the living area includes a queen sofa sleeper. Bed linens, bath towels, beach towels, pillows, and blankets are provided. Please use beach towels—not bath towels—for the beach and outdoor activities.

Bathroom and Plumbing

The bathroom features a walk-in shower with a rain showerhead. A hairdryer, bath towels, and starter toiletries are provided. To protect Maui’s plumbing, flush only toilet paper. Do not flush wipes, paper towels, feminine products, or other items, even when labeled flushable.

If something goes wrongFor a clog, leak, or toilet overflow, stop using the affected fixture and contact Allyn Dean at 808-269-3285 promptly. For an active leak or immediate safety concern, also contact guest support.

Shared Laundry

The condo does not have a private washer or dryer. Guests may use The Pikake’s shared coin-operated laundry. Please follow all posted hours and machine instructions, remove belongings promptly, and leave the room tidy for the next guest.

Starter Supplies

To help you settle in comfortably, The Pikake A3 provides a starter supply of essential items, including toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, and basic toiletries. These supplies are intended to get you started and are not replenished during your stay. Depending on the length of your visit and your personal preferences, you may need to purchase additional paper products, toiletries, coffee, laundry detergent, groceries, and other household items.

Beach, Ocean, and Wildlife

The ocean is one of the best parts of staying at The Pikake, but conditions can change quickly. Follow posted warnings, never turn your back on the ocean, and closely supervise children. Swimming, snorkeling, surfing, kayaking, and other ocean activities are always at the guest’s own risk.

Please admire marine life from a respectful distance. Never touch, feed, chase, crowd, or block the path of sea turtles, monk seals, whales, or other wildlife. Choose reef-conscious sun protection and help keep sand outdoors by rinsing beach items before bringing them inside.

Beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach towels are provided. Return all equipment to its proper storage location after use, and use beach towels rather than bath towels outdoors.

House Rules and Community Courtesy

The Pikake is a small residential condominium community, and some neighbors live here full time. Please help preserve its peaceful atmosphere by keeping voices, music, and televisions at respectful levels, especially during quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Please bag household trash securely and take it to the property’s designated dumpster. Do not leave trash, food, or recycling in walkways, on the lanai, or outside the condo, as it may attract pests.
